Refreshing your home does not need to be expensive or take up all your time. In fact, it is easier than ever before to make your home feel fresher without all the hard work.

But you don’t always need to buy new furniture or start major renovations for it to feel fresher.

Usually, making small updates can be enough to change the mood of your home and make it feel better.

Let’s have a look at some of the ways you can refresh your home without changing everything below:

Rethink the Lighting

Lighting is one of the biggest things that affects the way your home feels. Most people forget about this, too!  It has the power to change the atmosphere and can make a room feel cozy, help you to focus better and set the tone. Whether that is focusing when working from home, lighting up the worktops when cooking, or setting the mood for a meal in the evening.

If your room feels a little dark, then it might not be big changes that you need to make; it could be as simple as changing the lights. Rather than relying on one big light, think about adding layers of lighting.

Use Texture for Warmth

Even neutral spaces can feel more alive when you start to add in some textures. Think about materials that contrast with what you already have in your home.

If your sofa is smooth, add a chunky knitted blanket. Add placemats to your tables and rugs around your home.

Adding in new curtains or throws can also have a big impact.

Bring in Greenery

Plants are a very simple way to refresh a room, but not everyone has the time to care for them.

There are many quality faux plants. They have improved massively in recent years, and more people are now starting to use them. Place on shelves, in vases, and use them as centerpieces on tables.

You can buy artificial flowers in bulk, which gives you the flexibility to rotate your arrangements. This means that your home will always be up to date with the latest colours of the season.

Declutter but Don’t Remove Everything

Just because you are refreshing your home doesn’t mean you need to be adding things. Sometimes, refreshing your home is about decluttering and giving it room to breathe.

Look at the surfaces of your home. Coffee tables, kitchen counters, and entryway consoles are the areas that tend to get cluttered quickly and can make a huge difference to how your home feels when they are cleared.

This does not mean that your home needs to feel minimalistic or empty. It just means that anything you don’t use needs to be thought about, and everything needs to be put in its home.

When you do this, you are left with a home that feels more organized and easier to live in.

Refreshing your home doesn’t mean you need to spend load of money or do a lot of work. By rethinking things like lighting, adding in some textures, and having a good declutter, you can make an impact without it needing to cost a fortune.

Are there any small changes you’ve made to your home that have made a big difference? We’d love to hear about them!
