Katelyn Grice says she owes her entire art career to her high school.
“Without them I wouldn’t be anything,” she said.
The 17-year-old Caddo Magnet senior turned a hobby into a passion, and she knows her work is good. Really good.
“I love inspiring people through my artwork,” she said. “I love being able to show my art somewhere and the whole anonymity of it. The art speaks for itself.”
Grice is a part of Project Talent, an after school program at her high school. She recently won Juror’s Choice, Best Black and White and People’s Choice at Artbreak.
Her plans after high school? Grice’s goal is to move across the country to Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach, CA.
“Hopefully that kick starts everything and just keeps me going,” she said. “I would love to continue art as a career.”
