On the cusp of turning 18, Bella Silvia is preparing for a big change from her usual day to day: going to college.

The Loyola College Prep senior will attend Louisiana State University in Shreveport (on full scholarship) for molecular and cellular biology. Her ultimate goal is medical school.

“I’m really interested in regenerative medicine and working with cells,” she said.

While medicine may be a top priority, her passion right now is art and you can see it within her work.

“My first memory is of me drawing something,” she said. “I focus a lot on the human body, anatomy.”

Her sketchbook is filled with drawings of people, animals and other character renderings. Not only does she work with tangible mediums, but she’s also a digital and graphic artist. While in high school, she’s had the opportunity to create logos, t-shirt designs, posters and more. She’s even created art for her school’s production of Into the Woodsin 2017.

“Even though I’m going into medical school, I want to keep doing this as a hobby,” she said.

Bella is also very active at her school and is a part of Student Government Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Flyers for Life, Green Club, Flyers Aiding in the Hungry (FAITH) and Art Club, to name a few. She’s also played volleyball all four years of high school and participated in track for two years.
