The Woman’s Department Club held a Mardi Gras Jazz Brunch at the corner of Margaret Place and Line Avenue. A tour of this building is a must since it houses so much history, from Katherine Hepburn performing there to Eleanor Roosevelt giving a speech within the walls of the auditorium. The champagne brunch was prepared and served by the members of the Woman’s Department Club. These ladies know how to share a good time. A live jazz band, A Touch of Class, entertained guest during the brunch and even performed in the Second Line Parade after the brunch. Some of the royalty from local krewes threw special beads and doubloons during the parade through the historic building.
