Richard Marsh Hosey started Dandy Products in 1975. At the beginning, he was a supplier for car dealerships and muffler shops. Soon, the business began installing items such as trailer hitches, bumpers and grill guards on trucks.
Hosey’s daughter, Marsha Richardson, has had a hand in the shop since she can remember. “It’s a fun business,” said Richardson, who helps customers decide what to buy. “I ask, ‘What are you going to use it for? Do you just want to look good, or are you actually going to use it?’”
Richardson’s sons, Pat and Robert Richardson, and her daughter, Amy Bailey, keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Robert Richardson, Jay Holland and Mark Sepulvado are the salesmen who wait on the customers and assist them in selecting what they need. Ray Haley, Matthew Cole, Johnathan Taylor, and Patrick Johnson are the installation technicians for Dandy Products.
They have an extensive line of brand name trailer hitches, gooseneck and fifth-wheel hitches, and pick-up truck accessories. Their product inventory is constantly changing to keep up with the industry and they stock a full-range of accessories. Dandy’s experienced installers complete the job on the vehicle on the same day. Dandy’s business motto has always been to offer a good product at a fair price and great customer service.
“I’m seeing grandchildren of our original customers coming through the door,” Richardson said. “I sure do appreciate everyone.”
