Boyett Printing is a family-owned business that has been serving the Shreveport community for 25 years.

“We provide quality, affordable printing and direct mail to our customers,” said John Boyett, who started the company with his wife, Janet.

A lot has changed since they set up their first printing press in their garage.

Their first job was for Broadmoor Baptist Church. They gradually built up their business until it was time to make the move to a real office.

“After four years in our home with three small children, we decided to find a retail location,” said Janet. “That location is on Kings Highway across from Centenary College, and that’s where we’ve been for over 20 years.”

The Boyetts are proud of the work they’ve provided clients.

“We strive to make sure every job goes out on time and with the best quality,” said John. “Our employees are top notch, and they each share our commitment to great customer service. We provide personal attention to each and every project.”

Over the years, employees have become like family. So have the clients.

“In printing, you get to build relationships with people from working closely on many projects,” Janet said. “We love the creativity and craftsmanship in the area. We also enjoy being on the front line of new technology.”

John and Janet’s personalities complement each other nicely. John is extremely organized and good at streamlining production, while Janet is a people person who is very welcoming. Both are down-to-earth and easygoing.

Both unexpectedly fell into printing as a career.

“Printing was not something I thought about when I thought about what I was going to be when I grew up,” said Janet. “We believe this is where God has led us and he has been faithful in providing for all our needs. We’ve been working in the industry so long that we can’t imagine doing anything else as a career.”

Their son, Cory, has gotten in on the family business.

“I’ve been around the shop since I was five years old, and I’ve since learned about the many different facets of printing,” Cory said. “When you come to Boyett Printing, you’re going to find a Boyett at work. Our company begins and ends at our name.”

It has always been his goal to become someone his parents could pass their business down to.

“We’re here to fulfill a need,” Cory said. “As long as your focus is on putting out the best end product you can, the payoff will most certainly follow.”
