Jefferson, Texas is a small historic town in East Texas founded during the Pre-Civil War Era of the 1840s. Over the years, Jefferson became famous for ghostly sightings and haunted hotels. The Marion County town has been featured as the most haunted city in Texas in numerous magazine and newspaper articles and on the Travel Channel, Discovery Channel, and the Sci-Fi Channel.

On November 2 this fall, the celebrated town of Jefferson is holding the 13th year of its semi-annual event – History, Haunts, and Legends. The city will be filled with avid ghost hunters and paranormal investigation teams that will investigate historically haunted locations throughout the town. Anyone who has an interest in history, mystery, and the unexplained should attend this superstitious event starting at 9:00 am to enjoy a thrilling day filled with special guest speakers, lectures, vendors, and mysterious events that take place throughout the day and into the night. History, Haunts, and Legends is a one-day event that will bring chills to visitors as they navigate through extreme haunts found throughout Jefferson’s most haunted historic locations. They’ll hear regional stories that bring legends and history back to life as they continue the search for the answers to unsolved mysteries.

This is the 13th year for History, Haunts, and Legends in Jefferson, Texas thanks to Jodi Breckenridge, the Historic Jefferson Ghost Walk founder who created the event in 2006. 13 years…is that an omen of things to come? Every year speakers, authors, and paranormal investigators from across the nation grow in numbers as they gather to talk and share knowledge of haunted historical events and all things paranormal in this Pre-Civil War town.

Paranormal investigations begin at 8 pm at the many locations open for investigation. Haunted locations included in the journey are The Jefferson Hotel, The Vines House, Brayden and Co, Heathers Guest House, The Hale House, The Claiborne House, The Old Mill Antique Store, The French Town House, and The Culberson House. Nighttime ticket holders will investigate each haunted location in assigned groups at designated times.

Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event until sold out or can be reserved ahead of time by calling the event founder, Jodi Breckenridge. Tickets can be purchased for separate events with choices for the daytime speakers, nighttime investigations, or VIP tickets for both day and night events.
