Shreve Memorial Library & Food Bank Partner for Summer Feeding Program   

Shreve Memorial Library is partnering with the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana to once again offer the Summer Feeding Program. Children up to age 18 will receive free meals at participating Shreve Memorial Library branches as part of the Food Bank’s Summer Food Service Program. A program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Summer Food Service Program was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session. The program is sponsored by the State of Louisiana and the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

Meals will be provided free of charge by the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana beginning Monday, June 3 and continue through Wednesday, July 31 on the following days and times at the Shreve Memorial Library branches listed below. All meals must be consumed at the library and cannot be taken to go.

The Summer Food Service Program will coincide with Shreve Memorial Library’s “Universe of Stories” Summer Reading Program. Summer Reading Programs are open to all ages, individuals and groups.

SMG Promotes Erika Wysong to GM of Convention Center, Shreveport Municipal Auditorium

SMG has announced that Erika Fregoso Wysong has been promoted to general manager of the Shreveport Convention Center and Shreveport Municipal Auditorium in Shreveport. Wysong most recently served as the assistant general manager for both venues.

A 24-year veteran of the hospitality and facility management industry in Shreveport, Wysong has spent the past 10 years as the director of sales and marketing for the Convention Center and Municipal Auditorium. Wysong’s professional experience includes various sales and marketing positions at Harrah’s Entertainment/Horseshoe Gaming prior to joining SMG. She has worked enthusiastically to promote Shreveport as a destination during her career.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Public Relations from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Wysong has strong ties to the market and has been instrumental in attracting top-tier talent such as Bob Dylan, Tyler Perry’s “Madea,” Luke Combs and Dancing with the Stars to name a few.

“Erika is a true professional who will provide senior leadership for the Convention Center and historic Municipal Auditorium and in the broader Shreveport community,” said Doug Thornton, executive vice president, SMG Stadiums and Arenas. “With years in the facility management industry, Erika will bring that experience, along with her own enthusiasm and creativity to her new role.”

Tanner Murphy Receives Certified Long-Term Care Designation
