EVENT Red River Mardi Gras Bash, 1 p.m., Lake Street at Clyde Fant Parkway, downtown Shreveport

The Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau is hosting the 12th Annual Red River Mardi Gras Bash in downtown Shreveport during the Krewe of Centaur Parade. The party starts at 1 p.m. Attendees will enjoy a front row experience to the Krewe of Centaur parade – one of the largest Mardi Gras parades in Louisiana. The climate-controlled party tent is located along the riverfront, and tickets to the bash include live entertainment, savory Cajun and Creole food, king cake, a commemorative Mardi Gras bead and t-shirt and several hands-on experiences.

The Krewe of Centaur is one of the largest parading krewes in Louisiana, and their giant, colorful parade is a must-see. The parade begins, rain or shine, at 4:30 p.m. on Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway in downtown Shreveport. The massive parade proceeds south along Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway from downtown Shreveport, turns right onto Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and ends in the Broadmoor neighborhood at East Kings Highway Park.

EVENT Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Pet Parade, 12-4 p.m., Reeves Marine, Bossier City

The annual Krewe of Barkus & Meoux Pet Parade will roll at the old Reeves Marine in Bossier City. Bring your pets, children and all your family and friends. Parade day activities, including the judging of registered pets for prizes in such categories as Best Dressed, Best Float, Best Interpretation of theme and Pet/ Owner Lookalike, begins at 1 p.m. The parade typically marches at 3 p.m.

The popular parade begins in downtown Shreveport at 4 p.m. at the intersection of Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway and Lake Street. The parade will proceed south along Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway, turn right onto Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and end near the Duck Pond in Shreveport’s Broadmoor neighborhood.

EVENT Krewe of Highland Parade, 2 p.m., Highland Neighborhood, Shreveport

The Krewe of Highland Parade is a funky and unpredictable neighborhood parade that winds its way through the historic Highland neighborhood of Shreveport. The parade, which is known for unique throws including hot dogs, packaged ramen noodles and more, begins at 2 p.m. at the intersection of Gregg Avenue and Gilbert Drive in Shreveport, and travels a circular route through the neighborhood that includes sections of Creswell Avenue, Olive Street and Centenary Boulevard.

EVENT Marilynn’s Place Mardi Gras Bash, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Marilynn’s Place, Shreveport

Each year on the day of the Krewe of Highland Mardi Gras parade, Marilynn’s Place hosts a huge party beginning at 10 a.m. with breakfast and Bloody Mary’s. However, the party really kicks into high gear after the Krewe of Highland parade ends, with live music, food, libations and great people- watching. Admission is free but food and drink must be purchased.

EVENT Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation’s Mardi Gras Dance, 5:30 p.m., Riverview Hall, Shreveport

Shreveport Public Assembly & Recreation is hosting its annual Mardi Gras Dance for individuals with disabilities at 5:30 p.m. at Riverview Hall, 601 Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway in Shreveport. The free event features music, refreshments, door prizes and more and is open to all ages.

EVENT Krewe de les Femmes Mystique Children’s Mardi Gras Parade, 6:30 p.m., Pierre Bossier Mall, Bossier City

Throw me something, mister! Created to foster a fun, family-friendly Mardi Gras event for children in the community, the last Mardi Gras parade of the season in Shreveport- Bossier City is the Children’s Mardi Gras Parade. The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. and rolls around the Pierre Bossier Mall.
