The 2019 Bossier City Farmers Market opens April 6 and will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday until Nov. 23 in the south parking lot of Pierre Bossier Mall. This family-friendly event is free to the public and will feature a wealth of fresh veggies and fruits, food trucks, jams, jellies, salsa, honey, family fun, arts & crafts, handmade goods and much more.

  • EVENT CORK: A Red River Revel Wine Event, 2-5 p.m., Festival Plaza, Shreveport. CORK Wine Festival is one of northwest Louisiana’s most popular events. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport. Adults may taste more than 80 wines from around the world with great jazz entertainment and sample food from local restaurants. Wine experts of the represented regions will be on hand to offer advice, answer questions and discuss fine wines.

  • EVENT Craft Beer: Palate, Pairings and Proficiency, 5-7:30 p.m., Red River Brewing Company, Shreveport. This class (offered as continuing education credits trough Bossier Parish Community College) teaches a variety of serving skills in order to learn the difference between taste and flavor, various types of malt, and participate in food pairings to further your ability to make knowledge-based suggestions to your clientele. This class is taught by a BJCP Certified Beer Judge and Cicerone Certified Server and is intended to help prepare people for the Cicerone Certified Beer Server exam. The class runs four consecutive Sundays, April 7, April 14, April 21 and April 28. Cost for the class is $99 plus $35 supply fee paid directly to Red River Brewing Company on the first night. All four sessions are included in the price. Must be 21 years of age to attend.

  • EVENT Shreveport Little Theatre Guild’s Dressing the Part, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Margaritaville Resort Paradise Theatre, Bossier City. The annual gala to support the Shreveport Little Theatre will bring the excitement of the fashion runway and theatrical costuming to the Margaritaville Resort Paradise Theatre.
