Edward Mouton acquired an Associate of Arts Degree from Delgado Community College in New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of New Orleans. Edward completed law school at LSULaw Center in 1996. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana courts, Federal Circuit for the Western District of Louisiana and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Soon after graduating from the LSU Law Center, Mr. Mouton began practicing law as an Assistant Public Defender with the Caddo Parish Commission in Shreveport under the direction of Alan J. Golden. As staff attorney to one of the State’s largest public defender’s agencies, Mr. Mouton gained experience in all phases of representation of non-death penalty felonies, misdemeanors and DWIs.

Edward opened his solo law practice 19 years ago, providing legal advice, criminal and DWI defense, wills and trial practice. In his career, he has developed a solid reputation as an aggressive defense attorney who puts his clients, their families and their future first.

Edward has two daughters, Rebecca and Camille, and a son, Stephen.

Alan J. Golden joined the firm in 2017. Originally from Miami, FL, Mr. Golden obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his Juris Doctorate from LSU-Law Center in 1983. He is admitted to the bars of both Louisiana and Florida.

Mr. Golden retired from the Caddo Parish Public Defender’s Office, where he served as Chief Counsel for 18 years. All together, Alan has 26 years as a trial attorney with experience in criminal litigation, having successfully defended innumerable clients charged with major sex offenses and homicides. He has a passion for exonerating people falsely accused of sex assaults, a serious problem that is becoming prevalent due to an overzealous criminal justice system.

Mr. Golden is a frequent lecturer at statewide legal seminars. Alan is married to Barbara Golden, his wife of 26 years, and has two children, Todd and Laura.

The Mouton Law Firm runs smoothly and efficiently thanks to the tremendous assistance and abilities of Lyra Jousma, a Notary Public, Paralegal and Office Administrator.
