2020 TOP ATTORNEYS:
LAW OFFICES OF PHILIP B . ADAMS
CRIMINAL DEFENSE • PERSONAL INJURY
Philip Adams believes all Americans are entitled to the fullest protections of the Constitution and the law.
He works vigorously to defend clients at every stage of each case, through complete investigation of all factual issues, legal research, motion filing, hearings, negotiations, and trials.
“I want to make a difference in the lives of ordinary citizens,” said Adams, a Natchitoches native who graduated from Northwestern State University and LSU Law School. He practices only in criminal defense and personal injury.
“Being a part of the legal profession puts me in a unique position to take what are often difficult circumstances and work to achieve a positive resolution so that my clients and society as a whole benefit,” Adams said.
His firm is meticulous and works to fully investigate every relevant fact and detail of every matter it handles.
“That’s one of the hallmarks of my firm and my practice,” Adams said. “We understand that what the other side presents is often only one part of the overall story of a case. We believe that fully evaluating evidence is often the most consequential step in advancing the interests of each client, because every legal case depends on evidence and how it relates to the law.”
He likes every aspect of his job, and he thinks that qualities such as patience, integrity, and strong communication skills are the keys to effective representation. He also thinks a little personality goes a long way. “Courtroom proceedings, especially trials, can be tedious affairs,” Adams said. “The lawyer who has a little charm, respect for those in the courtroom, and a sense of humor can ease tension and frustrations that may arise.” He has found the perfect profession.
“I have a quick, imaginative, and strategic mind,” he said. “I’m self-confident and decisive, as well as hardworking and determined. All of these qualities have helped me in how I evaluate, handle, and litigate cases.” Adams plans to continue to grow his firm and its reputation in the Shreveport area. “The moment you think you’ve learned everything about being a successful attorney is the moment you should stop practicing law,” he said. “You should always work on improving your skills.” In his spare time, he enjoys reading, being in the outdoors, exercising, and volunteering.
“I would like to thank the Shreveport-Bossier City community for being so welcoming and supportive of my firm,” Adams said. “I would also like to thank my past, current, and future clients for the privilege of representing them and being there to help them get through difficult circumstances.”
