June is the month to be in the Shreveport-Bossier City area, as it is blessed with eclectic and entertaining cultural events all month long. A few of the concerts include The Josh Abbot Band, Charlie Pride, Montgomery Gentry, Pat Green or Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. If you want more theatrics, you can always attend the Let the Good Time Roll Festival or the Cross Lake Flotilla. The Blue Man Survivor Dinner will take place at the Shreveport Aquarium and SALT Restaurant on Saturday, June 2. The purpose of the event is to recognize prostate cancer patients and families, promote education on prostate cancer and raise funds to support the Blue Man Run. Guests will be treated to a private stroll through the aquarium, cocktails, a silent auction, dinner and live music. Items for the silent auction include LSU football box tickets, a deep-sea fishing trip, a hog hunt, a spa package and a big screen television.

The Provenance Farmers’ Market will take place in Windrush Park from 5-8 p.m. every Thursday night in June and from 7 a.m. to noon on June 16. Peruse produce and meats, crafts and other goods by local growers, makers and artists. At the evening markets you can grab dinner and dessert at one of the local food trucks in attendance.

Shreveport-Bossier City’s premier soccer team, the Rafters, are excited about being able to call Independence Stadium the Rafters’ home field for the 2018 season. Come watch them as they create an excellent game experience and fun time for the family and young children. The club competes in the South Region’s South Central Conference.

Texas country group Josh Abbott Band will perform at the Stage Silver Star in Bossier on Saturday, June 9. The band is touring in support of their most recent album, Until My Voice Goes Out, which is “a hopeful look into the future, a roll-up-the-sleeves-and-move forward embrace of life and its potential” as well as celebrating 10 years since recording their first single.

A weekend-long celebration of African American culture, Let The Good Times Roll Festival features performances by top names in soul, gospel, hip-hop and R&B. The festival was named a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Event because of its great lineup of music, food and art booths.
