December 1

  • event  KCS Holiday Express, 4 p.m., Shreveport’s KCS Yard

The KCS Holiday Express will visit Shreveport’s KCS Yard beginning at 4 p.m. The KCS Holiday Express is a festive, six-car train that brings Santa Claus and his friendly elves to communities throughout the country. Visitors can visit with Santa Claus and walk through three train cars filled with holiday displays. The event is free and open to the public.

Las Vegas Night 2017, which benefits the Betty and Leonard Phillips Deaf Action Center, is an annual holiday event helping serve over 18,000 deaf and hard-of-hearing people and their families in northwest Louisiana. Come enjoy yourself at Wine Country Bistro for a night of blackjack, roulette or craps, as well as spectacular live entertainment and silent auctions. An open bar and exquisite buffet will be prepared by Wine Country’s executive chef.

Experience a special evening with CMA and Grammy award-winning country artist, at this intimate solo-acoustic setting where his powerful voice and his guitar are the subject of the spotlight. An up-close and personal event punctuated by personal stories and anecdotes about his life and musical influences. Performing some of his biggest hits, including T-R-O-U-B-L-E, It’s A Great Day to Be Alive and Best of Intentions; the Grand Ole Opry member will bring his award-winning songs to life as he performs at the Margaritaville Resort Casino at 8 p.m.

Come see Masha, one of ballet’s pluckiest heroines, at the Municipal Auditorium, where she journeys to a land where toys come to life.

You’ll be dazzled by a winter wonderland of twinkling lights, fabulous costumes, beautiful decor and sets and festive, feel-good holiday music, all gift-wrapped and waiting for you. His biggest hits include It Was Almost Like a Song, Smoky Mountain Rain, (There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me, I Wouldn’t Have Missed It for the World, Any Day Now and Stranger in My House.
