Bossier City is booming, and so is the Bossier City Farmers Market. Starting Saturday, April 7 and running through Nov. 24 (no breaks) and will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday morning in the south parking lot of Pierre Bossier Mall. This family-friendly event is free to the public and will feature a wealth of fresh veggies and fruits, food trucks, jams, jellies, salsa, honey, family fun, arts & crafts, handmade goods and much more. There will be live entertainment, food trucks and other family-friendly fun events.

EVENT CORK: A Red River Revel Wine Event, 2 –5 p.m., Festival Plaza, Shreveport
Shreveport’s CORK Wine Festival is one of northwest Louisiana’s most popular events. The annual wine tasting is a fundraiser for Shreveport’s Red River Revel Arts Festival. The festival takes place at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport and features tasting stations for 80 different domestic and international wines, complemented by several of the area’s top chefs and specialty food purveyors serving gourmet appetizers along with live music. Wine experts of the represented regions will be on hand to offer advice, answer questions and discuss fine wines.

The Shreveport Regional Arts Council’s Annual ArtBreak Festival is the largest showcase of student art programs in the South featuring more than 100 Caddo Parish public and private schools, more than 50 hands-on learning activities, more than 100 performances, more than 4,000 student works of visual and literary art and over $20,000 in cash awards. ArtBreak is the perfect place to show how art and science are better together. The ArtBreak Festival takes places through Sunday, April 29 at the Shreveport Convention Center.
