Dr. Peter Boggs has cared for thousands of people with allergy and asthma in the Ark-La-Tex since 1969. He is reopening The Allergy & Asthma Clinic and Research Center, Bossier City and Shreveport.
A graduate of the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, his Allergy & Immunology Training and Fellowship was completed at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, under the legendary John P. McGovern, M.D., also known as “The Chief”. He began practice in Shreveport with Albert L. Stephens, Jr. M.D.
Dr. Boggs has served his specialty as President of the American College of Allergists. He pioneered the use of exhaled nitric oxide in asthma, the application of system thinking and system dynamics in asthma care, and designed the Board Review course for the specialty which remains an integral part of the education of Allergists. For these and other efforts, Dr. Boggs was honored with The Gold Cane Award by The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology in 2014 given annually to one physician for outstanding personal and professional achievement.
He has a special interest in nasal allergy, asthma, food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, atopic dermatitis and all forms of urticaria and angioedema. His primary focus is meeting the needs of adults and children who seek his help.
