EVENT Crawfest, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Betty Virginia Park in Shreveport
Crawfest will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Betty Virginia Park in Shreveport. Admission is free to the public and pets are welcome. There also will be live music, local artists and a kids’ activities area. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the South Highlands Neighborhood Association for improvements to the park. Bring your family and come enjoy great local music, food, drinks and art in the park.

Want to attend a gumbo cook-off fundraiser at Festival Plaza in downtown Shreveport? This all-day event, which is free to attend, features gumbo teams from all over that compete for the title of Ultimate Gumbo Gladiator. A team of judges will select winners in seafood and non-seafood categories. Attendees will also vote for People’s Choice winner. Proceeds from this event support the programs of Volunteers for Youth Justice.
